Been Awhile...

Wow, ladies. It sure has been awhile since I updated this page :). Now, we've just finished Three Cups Of Tea and are meeting Thursday evening at the Wine Cellar to discuss and pick our new memoir. I hope to see Terry, Katrina, Deb, Linda, Kristin and Melanie there. Let's sit down, sip a glass of wine and talk about our latest read and then pick our next read. Reflecting on the five years since I moved from Manhattan to the quaint, small town of Southern Pines, North Carolina, I've realized one change about myself....I've fallen in love with wine, dry, white wine to be exact. I've always been a literary fan so here, I decided to start my own book club with meetings monthly at the downtown Wine Cellar, where they know me by name and my tastes in wine just as well or better than I do. Sometimes I ruminate
on whether my new love of wine makes me an alcoholic but refuse to see becoming a fan, purveyor and aficionado of a certain drink as a problem. I mean, it's not as though I sip on it all day and night nor am I happy with the slight buzz it may give me, although I must say I sleep better and fall asleep faster. Maybe it just has to do with the hugely slower pace of NC compared with hustling, bustling Manhattan. I just can't believe how I slept through the (much louder) sounds of New York City. You feel like the garbage truck enters your building, the noises are so loud.
